Our History
Samuel James Engineering was established in 1993 and has been a Unipart Rail company since 2017. It is recognised as a well respected player in the specialised discipline of high quality electrical control panels and switchboards, and its capabilities fit perfectly with Unipart Rail’s own market-leading signalling and control location case and REB manufacture.
At Samuel James we provide superior engineering capability within the power sector (E&P) for the rail industry. Our trusted engineers deliver a fully integrated solution to our rail partners from initial concept and design, to testing, certification, manufacture and on site commissioning and repairs.

Our purpose built design and manufacturing facility in Coventry is complemented by the other Unipart companies, and it is the strength of the Unipart Group that enables us to deliver the latest advances in digital and manufacturing expertise. Using state of the art design software and tools, we offer a bespoke solution whilst utilising the frameworks provided by the client which meet their specifications, industry regulations and approval requirements.
